1 Month

I can hardly believe it, my sweet littlest boy is one month old! How does it go so fast? I swear my last month of pregnancy dragged on and on, but this last month has flown by!

I am one of those crazies that LOVE the newborn stage. I just try to soak in all that baby goodness! I love holding them, rocking them, holding them skin on skin, nursing them (when the latch is correct) and just loving on them. Little Colt I just cannot get enough of you!

I am not too sure of his weight and height because we don't have another dr appt until next month. But he is growing so fast! He is in size 1 diapers and wearing 0-3 month clothing. Just a few days ago I put him in a 3 month outfit and it was none to big!

He is a decent sleeper and will have a 3-5 hr stretch at night. The 5 hour ones are awesome! We are figuring out breast feeding and will be so happy when it is like clock work. He is eating every 2-3 hours during the day eating about 3-5 oz!!! Such a good eater. That's how he is getting so big! LOL

He is such a sweet and easy going baby! He loves to be with all of us. He already loves his siblings! He likes to be held upright. He enjoys his baths. He still has a full head of dark hair. He is a love baby! I am so glad he is a part of this family!!!

This is an accurate picture of what being the third born looks like. He is almost always being touched, talked to, sat on, etc... Lol! He is such a good sport.

My hands may be full, but so is my heart!!! Happy one month littlest boy!

Carnival

Our little town is having some celebration days which included a parade this morning and a carnival all weekend!

Well we missed the parade because I forgot about it...oops! Lol. But we did make it to the carnival!

I wasn't sure what to expect so I was really impressed when we walked up and saw actual rides!!! But there was also an animal show, vendors for crafts, food and games! We didn't stop and watch the animal show but Pierce sure loved walking by and seeing all the dogs!

We then went to the bouncy blow up things. Descriptive I know...but really what do you call them? Anyway we thought the kids might like to play on them. Saffryn did for a couple of minutes but Pierce had no interest.

Saffryn was very curious about the rides (and let's be honest Dan and I were excited about them, too) so we headed over there. They had several little little kid rides so we bought a handful of tickets and decided to try them out!

***Me: "I can't wait until we can take the kids to a Six Flags and all ride together."***

First Saffryn wanted to try the cars! She was excited. She picked the blue car and got buckled up. I went in to help her then of course had to walk out. She wasn't too sure about that. Then without much warning the ride started. Saffryn completely loses it. She starts crying and screaming. It was kind of sad and kind of funny.

Before the ride started

After. Can you tell she is screaming? Poor girl.

Well she gets off and we make a big deal about how good she did. We must have done a good job comforting her because she runs to this spaceship ride and begs to go on. Lol! Well not quite ready for that!

We decided to try the merry-go-round because Dan could go with her (I was "wearing" Colt). That was a big win! She loved it!!!

Pierce was so sad that he couldn't go with them...he wasn't big enough for this ride. So we found a ride him and Saffryn could do together. Well once he was on the ride he started crying. He didn't like being left. Well about half way through the ride Saffryn started getting upset. Round and round they went screaming! Dan and I are terrible we just laughed and laughed!

Well we decided to only do the rides that Dan and I could do with them. So next up..the spinning teddy bear.

They were unimpressed to say the least. Saffryn hated when it spun so Dan had to hold it still. Haha.

***Dan: "yeah six flags is a long way off!' haha***

Well since the merry-go-round was the only ride that she liked and we had 2 tickets left we ended our rides on that one!

But we weren't done. What is a trip to the carnival without cotton candy and other goodies?!?! No picture because we were busy stuffing our faces. :)

What an eventful afternoon! Maybe next year rides will be more fun...hehe!

The Mom Party

While we were playing downstairs together Colt needed to go down for a nap. So I told the kids what I was doing and headed upstairs expecting them to follow me. They have been very attached recently (I'm sure you can guess why).

After lying Colt down I realize they haven't followed me. They are very quiet downstairs. Hmm...now the dilemma, do I give up this moment of peace and quiet (which have been rare) to check on them OR do I enjoy a moment of quiet and deal with the consequences later?!?! I choose quiet and sit on the couch for a moment. It was lovely!!!

I then hear the kids coming upstairs. They come walking to me hand in hand. Saffryn says, "I helped him." I then notice what she is talking about:

She helped him put on these sparkly shoes! Haha! They were both so proud. Then Saffryn proceeds to tell me that they are going to "The Mom Party" and that is why they have fancy slippers. Then they walked away hand in hand to go to their party!!!

And that is what happens when boys have older sisters! These kids are so awesome! Thanks for the laughs my sweet littles!!!

The Need Meeter

Since my last post I have had lots of things I want to blog about. So many ideas swirling in my head and tons of pictures (point for me!) to share...but have not (literally) had even one free moment to spare! So here is a brief catch up!!!

Last week we had company! My dad and Deana came to visit. We had a great time with them. I don't think Saffyn ever left my dad's side.

This week has been super BUSY! I went grocery shopping with all 3 by myself, took Pierce to get a haircut, got family pictures taken and other miscellaneous errands that needed to get done.

***In the middle of writing this 2 out of 3 kids decided not to take naps and needed my attention. My train of thought is gone...hmm what was this post going to be about?!? Lol!***

So the title...the Need Meeter. First picture saying it in an Arnold voice..."ya I am the need meeter!" There are just needs that need to be met all day and night. The breakdown of my need meetings are as follows: Crash and I get about 3% of my time and attention, Dan and household chores get about 7% and the littles get 90%! How do such little bodies have so many needs? Hehe!

Trying to find some balance and extra time. But for now just know we are still here! Sorry if I have neglected you in anyway. I am trying!!!

I am going to spend the next few days at home with no real agenda (other than the meeting constant needs), because I have found having 3 is very doable as long as I have nothing else I need to do or worry about. Lol! But maybe spending some quiet time at home will help me catch up on chores, emails, blogs, thank you's, etc.

Here are a few pics until I can do more posts!

My precious boys!!!

My poor neighbors...

Boy through and through

Saffryn playing hide and seek with Crash and Pierce

Crash found her!!! Haha

Hoping to magically find some more time soon to catch up! Until then...

***i hope this post doesn't sound too whiny. I love what I am doing!!! But it is just very very busy right now!

Head to Toe

Dear little Colt,

I love you from the top of your dark hair

Down to your alert and inquisitive eyes

To your sweet and small ears that hear oh so many noises

Down to your little mouth that has found its voice, both to cry and to coo!

To your cheeks that are oh so kissable

Just ask your older brother who gives you love at least 100 times a day

We love you down to your tummy that is growing from all your milk intake

All the way down to your feet that make our hearts melt

You my little fellow are pure delight! And don't you ever forget it!

Day Five

Last day of my first week...and go!

Woke up...oh so tired
Point for kids

Colt wanted to eat while Pierce and Saffryn ate breakfast. This was the first time this happened this week!
Point for kids

Scarfed down a bowl of cereal while kids are playing
Glad to have gotten some food. Point for me!

Rushed to get dressed and clean up the boys room and living room because a photographer was coming to do Colt's pictures (see previous post)! I got it done so point for momma

When the photographer got there Colt decided he was STARVING...ha! Tried to quickly feed him so we could get the pics started.
Point for kids

Despite the photographers best efforts Colt stayed awake the whole time she was here. What a pistol...pun intended! Lol!
Point for Colt

Had a friend stop by with dinner!!! We are spoiled!
Not having to cook again, point for me! Thanks Mandie!!!

Impromptu play date and lunch date with Mandie and her sweet kiddos! Fun!
We all win! Tie

Naps for kids! Yeah!!!
Point for mom!

The photographer emails me with Colt's pictures! They are AMAZING!!! I am completely blown away. I am giddy and emotional. You would think by the third it would be old hat, but it is the most amazing thing, I think each child is unique and important. My heart is like the grinches and grows with each child we have. Wow, life is sweet!
Point for God! Lol :)

After Dan got home we ate dinner, played with the kids and got them ready for bed (and showed off Colt's pictures.). Dan fed Colt and I got to focus on the "big" kids. It was good for me to put them to bed.
Great teamwork! Point for us.

After kids were asleep Dan got us ice cream and we watched a movie together. Colt stayed asleep the whole time! We SO needed this time together!!!
Point for us

Fed Colt then went to sleep. Phew! Tie

Realized I got NO pics today. Darn!
Point for kids

So wrapping up this week with what I have learned:
-Having 3 isn't as hard as I thought but it IS just as busy...no it is BUSIER!
-Eating is a privilege not a right. HA!
-Crash is such a good and patient dog. I knew that, but it was a good reminder!
-Sleeping is great, but rocking my newborn in the middle of the night is better (and won't last forever)
-My husband is amazing. I love how involved he is in our lives.
-I am usually about 45 minutes behind "schedule" at any given time
-My friends are life savers
-It is very easy for things to fall in the cracks (thank yous I have yet to write, I think I checked the mail once this week, chores, emails I need to respond to, taking my vitamins, etc) sorry if one of these affect you!
-If you are competitive (I may be slightly so) doing a game like this is a fun way to help motivate and encourage you. There was NO way I was going to lose this week...even if I had to do some creative points! Hehe
-I LOVE my job!!!

Ok now for the totals

Mom: 6
Kids: 5

Week totals:
Mom: 31
Kids: 25

I killed it and you can, too!!! ;-)

Colt's Newborn

I have to interrupt my week to post these pictures.

Today Mr. Colt had his first photo shoot. He decided not to sleep and be kind of difficult for this sweet photographer but she did an amazing job anyway!!!

Here is her website! Be sure and check it out! If you need someone to take family pictures be sure and think of her. She was VERY patient and super sweet (and as you will see talented!)

http://manlovin.blogspot.com/

Ok....enjoy!

Looking at these pictures I can't help but think of

Psalm 139: 13,14, "For You created my inmost being, You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful. I know that full well."

The first time we saw Colt via sonogram he was literally the size of a grain of rice. It is so amazing to see how he has grown since then. God's works truly are amazing!

Thank you Sally for these special photos!!!
