Seeds

A few weeks ago I caught Saffryn planting some rice while we were outside. She kept calling them seeds. She was so frustrated when I didn't let her continue to plant rice "seeds".

So I decided to to take a due from her and get some seeds she could plant!

Getting ready to go outside. It was a chilly, windy day.

We have to fill up the big pot.

They did all the work!

Good job!

Smooth it out.

Add a little bit of water.

Pierce's turn

Add the seeds.

More dirt

Time to give it lots of water!!!

We are crossing our fingers that we are successful! It will be so fun for Saffryn if they grow!

A Little More of Pierce

Pierce kind of got the short end of the blog stick before (typical middle child stuff...lol).

So here is just a bit more about him!

Doesn't he look so grown up! I can't believe how much he seems like a boy and not a baby!

Here is his big boy bed. He loves it. Overall he has done well adjusting to it. Naps seem to be the hardest thing, but I am working on being consistent so that will help.

He LOVES to sleep with animals. He picks all kinds of different ones and rotates them out.

Such a cutie!

He has been interested in potty training for a while. He is great at going pee, but has not wanted to poop in the toilet yet. We had no plans today so I decided to go ahead and try underwear and let him try and figure this thing out!

Saffryn wanted to show her underwear, too...

So far he has done great! He has kept them clean and dry and has gone pee in the toilet. I changed him to a diaper for naps then will try underwear again this afternoon.

Isn't he such a big boy?!?! Way to go buddy!!!

My Birthday

When Saffryn got wind that my birthday was coming up she was SO excited!!! We had conversations like this for days:

S: "what day is it today?"
Me: "Wednesday."
S: "only 2 more days until your birthday!!!"
Me: "Yep! And then Yaya is coming to visit."
S: so excited she could barely contain herself "then your party?!?!"
Me: cautiously "we'll I'm not having a party."
S: "well all your friends are going to come over for your birthday. Right?"
Me: "no..."
S: "why???"
Me: thinking...throwing a party sounds like an awful lot of work. Lol. "We'll I am just going to have a family party with you guys and Yaya. Doesn't that sound fun?"
S: excitement returning "Yea!"

Lol. It was so sweet how excited she was about it. When she woke up on my birthday the first thing she said was, "MOM, today is your BIRTHDAY!!!"

This was going to be Dan's first night off from nights so when he woke up he took Saffryn and Pierce out to get some party things for me. Saffryn was so excited. They came back with balloons and cupcakes!

Saffryn picked these out. Hahah!

Dan put some candles on one and they all sang happy birthday to me. Then they got to dive in!

It was such a fun birthday!

Little Piercey with his Easter basket.

Can't forget Colt!

Pretty dress! (Thanks Gigi!!!)

Ready for the egg hunt! We had to do it when Dan woke up (sleeping all day because he was working nights). Saffryn had decided to change out of her Easter dress.

The next weekend we celebrated with Papa and Gigi!

More egg hunting!

We had a good time celebrating! Thanks for a fun night Papa and Gigi! :)

Garage Project

My mom came out last weekend for my birthday! It was so good to see her. I was in serious need of some company (Dan was still working nights). I really wanted to clean up and organize my garage and knew it could not happen by myself. She was amazing and helped me! Here are some before and afters.

Before: Unfinished walls, trash (yea...disgusting. My bad), unorganized mess.

After:

We painted the walls! We got a new cabinet to put chemicals and tools in. We hung up a few tools to make room. Oh and cleaned up the trash and swept.

Before:

Pretty much just a bunch of stuff thrown together.

After:

We got hooks to hang up more items and organized what was left. And Pierce was really ready to be done. Haha!

Close up before:

Close up after:

It was a big job and took almost 2 whole days. The weather was perfect so we just spent the whole time outside. The kids did great and enjoyed being outside, too. By the end of the second day we were all done. Dan loved seeing it all done and was so surprised by how it all turned out!

Thanks so much for the help mom (seriously, you are amazing!). It feels great having a clean and organized space!

Some of Saffryn

She has tried ballet for the first time this year! I am still not sure if she enjoys it or will want to continue but for now it has been so good for both of us! Here she is getting ready for her pictures! She has her first recital next month!

She is becoming more and more like a preschooler and less like a toddler.

During one of our special times we worked on this puzzle together. She put together Repunzel and Cinderella all by herself! Amazing!!!

Pretending to have a picnic in the kitchen!

She has a great imagination! She is so fun and sweet! She sure keeps me on my toes!
