Siblings

It is so fun to watch my children become friends.

Found Colt in Max's crib when I went in to check on him one night. Of course Colt had taken off his clothes first apparently. Lol.

I pray that they will stay close all their lives and will be a source of love and encouragement to each other.

Eleven Months

Little boys one month short of a year. Holy cow!!!!
Stats:
I'm not sure of his height or weight but he is quickly outgrowing his 12 month clothes. He is in size 4 diapers and size 4 shoe. His hair is turning more blonde and less red. His eyes are still bright blue!
Milestones:
He is taking a few steps! He can only do a few in a row then he gets wobbly and tips over! He is so proud of himself!!! He has signed all done once and milk once! Trust me when I say we are super proud of him for this because his favorite form of communication is screaming! He is starting to wave hello. He can say dada when he sees Dan. He can climb up stairs. He now drinks out of a sippy cup!

Likes:
His most favorite thing (besides being held by his momma) is cars. He loves to drive cars all around the house. He will even make little sputtering noises while he does it! It is very amazing!!!

Colt got this car tower for Christmas and Max will drive a car over to it and try to figure out how to get it to go down. He LOVES cars!

Sleeping:
He is doing really well in his crib! I think he enjoys being with his brothers. He goes to bed when they do between 7-8pm and wakes up between 6:30-7:30. Sometimes he will wake up in the middle of the night and I just go in and give him his binky and turn on his lullybyes and he goes right back to sleep. He is taking a good afternoon nap. If we are out and about he will fall asleep in the car in the morning but if we are home he can push through and just take one good afternoon nap!
Personality:
He still has a big and stubborn personality. He definitely knows what he wants and will NOT settle for anything less. He is getting so aware of his surroundings and wants to do what the big kids are doing. If he sees me in the kitchen he always crawls over there screaming until I give him some food. He doesn't understand that sometimes I am in the kitchen cleaning not making food but he is so sure he is going to miss out on something that he screams at my feet until he gets a snack. Lol!!! He is pretty happy overall and enjoys playing. When mom is around that is all he wants but when he is distracted or I'm not around he is so easy and chill. I guess when you are the youngest of four you have to be able to hold your own and he most certainly does that!!!
Teeth:
This is its own category because he seems to have an abnormal (for my kids) amount of teeth!!! He has four on the top, four on the bottom, two molars on top and the two bottom molars are currently just pushing through. What?!?! Some serious choppers going on!

Overall we are starting to get into a good routine with him. He was such a challenging baby for me at times because he was so demanding but he is slowly becoming more independent and capable which is making my life a little easier. Once he starts communicating I think we will turn a hug corner because let's face it no one likes to be screamed at all day!

Oh Max, we love you. We love your laugh and spunk. We love your dermination and curiosity. We love your sweetness and your love of cuddling and hugging. You are the baby boy and you know it!!!

I love this milestone, it makes my heart happy!!!

Mini water bead sensory time

So I stumbled across a super fun blog:

funathomewithkids.com

So many neat ideas that we will be trying!  I decided to try the edible mini bead sensory first because we hadn't done anything like that yet.

http://www.funathomewithkids.com/2013/10/safe-edible-non-chokable-mini-water.html?m=1

So we first got the basil seeds
And used some liquid water color
And followed her directions.
We added water, color and seeds
The seeds are supposed to soak up the water. We waited and waited and even added more seeds and they didn't quite soak up the water. Next time I will use half the amount of water and see if that would do the trick. Anyway, we got tired of waiting and just decided to play.
I got a large tub for sensory and didn't realize the pattern on the bottom until I dumped it in. Lol!!!
I had put Max in his high chair with some food so he could just relax and eat. Nope. Not having it. He just cried and cried so I took him out and quess what?
He wanted to play, too!

He kept trying to crawl in so I gave up, took off his clothes and let him go.

The kids enjoyed playing with these little beads.

Critique:
This was fun. We will for sure be doing it again. I will try and figure out the seed to water ratio to get it less watery. Also, these things are super sticky!
I found it best to keep the kids in as little clothes as possible because it will stick to them really bad! My kids loved using spoons and water pipettes to add water and more color to it. I think there are ways to extend this activity. Thanks to this awesome blogger for some cool activities!

Too short

This was Max yesterday:
Then I gave the boys a haircut (all 4) and got talked into doing his as short as I do all the others. So today he looks like this:

His little baby buzz is just too short for me. It makes me so sad! Not going to cut it that short again for a while! I already miss his soft baby whispy hair :(
