This post is dedicated to the side of the family that love everything about Boston. Yes you know who you are...you will enjoy this post most of all!!! :)
This side of the family (Dan's side) has given many generous gifts to Saffryn and Pierce...including books about...you guessed it BOSTON. LOL!!! One of the books she most enjoys is about the Red Sox mascot Wally The Green Monster. It is kind of funny to me because she doesn't really understand very much about the book because it is all about baseball and Boston and Wally, but she really likes him.
So that was kind of the back story. Here is the real story. A couple of weeks ago we had our first sunny day. It was beautiful and we wanted to spend it outside. We really needed to get just a few groceries so Dan and the good idea of running to Walgreens which is just a few miles away (while I rode the bike next to them). So we talked about it a bit to Saffryn and we went on our way.
When we got home Saffryn was kind of dissapointed and kept asking about The Green Monster. "Are we going to The Green Monster mom???" I just sat there so confused...what are you talking about???
She kept talking about it and it finally occured to me that she was referring to our trip to WALgreens...which sounds an awful lot like WALLY (The Green Monster). LOL!!! I couldn't believe that she made that connection and remembered him. So she now refers to Walgreens as The Green Monster...maybe it will stick and that is what we will forever call that place!!!
I think she may end up being a Boston fan after all this indoctrination....hehe!!! :)

Boy or Girl
So I am now a little over 16 weeks! I am not very happy with this picture because the flowers camoflauge my growing tummy! Somehow this outfit just doesnt translate well into a photo...so I will have Dan take another one soon :)
So we are 2 weeks away from finding out if baby 3 is a boy or girl! You can help us vote...look on my sidebar and let us know what you think it is going to be!
I think its a girl. My skin is horrid (just like when I was pregnant with Saffryn), my cravings are sweet (just like with my pregnancy with Saffryn) and I seem to be gaining weight all over and not just my tummy (you guessed it just like with Saffryn). However to throw a wrench in that I have been SUPER emotional..which didn't happen with either pregnancy. And I have had a dream it was a boy...so who knows!!!
I am feeling pretty good...just really tired still. I think I have finally realized and have come to terms with the fact I will probably not get my energy back during my pregnancy. Chasing 2 kids around all day while being pregnant is pretty tiring :)
Like I said my skin is so bad...its more like a teenager going through puberty and not at all like a glowing mother to be...BOO!
I MAY be feeling movement these days...but it could just be gas. LOL. I am really bad and being able to tell the difference at this early stage. I know I should know, this is the 3rd go around. But when I feel the little tiny bubble I think, "Was that above or below my belly button?" and I just cant remember or tell. LOL. My gut is telling me some of those bubbles are baby moving...I hope I'm right :)
Well thas all for now. Please vote on a boy or girl and look forward to another pic soon :)

For the last couple of years my dad has come out for the starting weekend of the March Madness basketball tournament. He came out again this year and we had a blast! We ate a lot, went bowling one night, played outside and of course watched basketball! Here are some pictures from his time out here!
Playing, singing and rocking out!
Grandpa brought bunny ears:)
Playing!
Saffryn's choice of clothing to go bowling! Hahaha
Daddy and the kids
Pierce did not want to miss out!

Run For Your Life
One of Dan and I's favorite new shows is The Walking Dead. I would say it is a cross between 90210 and Zombie/Armageddon. It is so good! We have only finished season 1 so please no spoilers!!! Does it surprise you that I like Zombie stuff? LOL!!! I know it may seem out of character but they are just fun. Zombie things can either be super cheesy and hilarious or they can be creepy and intense and I love that. Dan and I love to watch and plan out our Zombie Armageddon plans :)
So a couple of weeks ago while reading through some magazines my friend always gives me (thanks friend...you know who you are!!!) I found the most awesome 5k race.....EVER!
So imagine running a 5k. Then add some intense obstacles. Sound fun? Well its not over yet....then add ZOMBIES chasing you!!!! I KNOW!!!! It is basically the most awesome thing I have ever seen. So you wear flags around your waist as you run this course all the while Zombies are chasing you and trying to grab your flags! If you finish with your flags you survive the Armageddon. If you get your flags taken you are now a zombie. SO FUN!!!!
Check it out HERE !!!
I am kind of disappointed because the only date that could even possibly work for us (remember I am having a baby sometime in September) would be in Austin in December. But after some serious talking and planning about it I just don't think it is going to work. For one reason I will still be nursing every couple of hours so that makes it kind of tricky. It would be a long drive and trip. We don't have any family or friends in Austin right now so who would watch our kids so we could go (I don't want my kids to witness it...may be a bit traumatic to see mom and dad being chased by creepy people). Also...I JUST HAD A BABY..ya might want a little more time to prepare physically.
So I am really really hoping they have some dates in 2013. That would give me a chance to get back into shape. Get my kids (especially baby 3) even more time to get into a schedule and maybe take a bottle. Also we may be able to choose a city closer with family near by who could help watch the kids for us.
So anyway...that was the 5k I was talking about. If you have ANY interest in joining us in 2013 let us know!!! We would love to have company in surviving the Apocalypse :)

Spoke Too Soon
I am 14 week pregnant!
And like the title says I spoke too soon!
A couple of weeks ago I said I was starting to feel better. Why oh why did I say that out loud and jinx myself??? This week I felt pretty crummy. I have been really tired again (one night I went to bed at 7:45 and woke up when the kids got up the next morning). I have also been very very hungry. Again.
A new symptom has arrived this week. Headaches. I never got this with either of the other pregnancy. My doctor said it happens most frequently in the second trimester because your body is producing lots of extra blood in preparation for the third trimester. So in order to do that your blood vessels get larger and produces more blood in your body. Isn't that incredible! Well let me tell you it doesn't feel incredible. My dr also said drinking caffeine can help because it constricts the vessels. I have tried drinking a soda here and there and It hasn't helped for me yet. Maybe I just need to drink like 10 a day...lol. Except I do not need any extra bloating!
My skin is still as crummy as ever. Every time I think it is going to clear up I get a new fresh batch of owies as Saffryn calls them...
So I was convinced it was a girl. I had a dream about it and just thought it was going to be one....until last night I had a very vivid dream it was a boy. I even got to hold him in my dream. Now I am confused. This pregnancy is so weird! I guess it's true all pregnancies will be different. This didn't happen with my other ones! So now your guess is as good as mine!
That's all for now!

New Skill
Saffryn has been working on a new skill....using scissors!!!
She found them in her art box and really wanted to try them. So I dropped everything and sat down on the floor and taught her how to use them! She is such a fast learner! She worked really hard. We spent lots of time cutting several papers into tiny pieces!
I love moments like this, when I can follow her lead and help her with something she is interested in. It is amazing how excited she can be about it when it is her idea! She was so proud of herself!!!
I was not able to take any pictures because it is a very hands on activity for both of us! So here is a picture of the after!!! Good job little girl!

10
Pierce is 10 months old...so here is 10 things you should know about him!
1). This boy is Trouble...yes with a capital T! He loves getting into mischief. If I tell him no about something he will then decide to make a beeline for that item...over and over and over again...all while laughing hysterically. So if he is doing something he shouldn't (and obviously is not in danger) I just act like it is no big deal and he will get bored quickly and leave it alone...but if I tell him no....
2). He is standing by himself now!!!! He has even started taking a few steps! He started last weekend at my in-laws! Everyone saw it so I'm not just a crazy..wishful thinking mom...just a crazy mom. HA
3). He currently has 5 teeth and is cutting 2 more. What a trooper he is! All those teeth in a few short weeks!!!
4). He is such a happy and friendly boy (which makes his trouble so much harder to deal with lol). He smiles so easily and all the time! He is so content doing his own thing and is just so happy!
5). He is such a wiggle worm and fights us at EVERY changing time. As soon as his diaper is off and he is wiped off he wiggles away and crawls off as fast as he can...which brings us to
6). He prefers to be naked. I decided not to add any of these pics...maybe another time. LOL. He is the absolute happiest when he is in his birthday suit! He will literally crawl half way around the house to avoid getting any clothes or diapers on!!! It is the funniest thing.
7). He is such a daredevil! He loves to be thrown around, hang upside down, wrestled with...you name it! It is such a change from our daughter who still hates it! She tells us...I don't like to go up in the sky...but Pierce does! She is right!!!
8). He loves to eat! He wants to eat whatever we are eating...NO EXCEPTIONS! That includes any treats we may be eating. Now I don't give him anything and everything we are eating (treats and other choke able foods)...and he will sure let you hear about it!
9). Even though he is so sweet and happy he is SO STUBBORN! He has a mind of his own already! He will not take no for an answer and will do it his way in his timing. End of story!
10). He is well loved. His sister is crazy about him. His mom is head over heels in love with him and him and his dad are best buds! He is the perfect boy for our family. Dan and I talk about the fact that God really knew what he was doing when he gave us our children. They are just right for us!

Another first
Today we had another first! We took the kids to get haircuts!!!
Pierce was starting to get shaggy...and well Saffryn's hair has a life of its own usually so I guess it was about time. Although we really only planned on getting Pierce's hair cut.
So first we went to Super Cuts and put our name on the waiting list. They said it would be about 20 minutes so we drove over to Sonic and got some "special drinks". Saffryn wanted a green one :)
We then drove back over to Super Cuts and got seated. Dan got called first so he went over to the chair and the kids and I watched him. I figured what would happen is he would finish his cut then Pierce could sit on his lap while I took pictures and distracted him. Well while Dan is in the middle of his haircut they called Pierce back for his turn. Then they told me for safety reasons they wouldn't let him sit on any ones lap. He had to sit in the booster by himself, but I could hold him on there if I wanted to. I had no choice but to try it!
Oh my goodness! What a cutie! He looked like such a big boy. You can see Dan in the background..LOL
Okay...so far so good! I am so proud of my little man!
Pulled out the clippers and started trimming him up!
I just can't believe how well he is doing!
And there he goes....ok time to put down the camera and help the poor baby. I brought some snacks (from the tip of my good friend who has 2 boys so I consider her the expert!) and that helped. He did great! I forgot to get an after picture because...
It is kind of hard to see in this picture but Saffryn spilled her drink everywhere! My hands were full trying to help Pierce and Dan was still getting his haircut and seeing that the lady next to Saffryn asked if she could help clean her up a bit. How NICE of her! So there is a towel under her shirt and green drink all over the front of it. LOL. What is a trip out with the kids without a little mess and drama?
Pierce finished up about the same time Dan did so Dan held him while I went back with Saffryn for her haircut. Like I said we weren't planning to get her haircut but she started saying, "I want a haircut, too." LOL. Well Dan and I talked about it before hand and decided if she said that and acted interested she could get a trim, too. I thought maybe seeing Pierce get upset about it would deter her from wanting one..but oh no. She was NOT going to miss out!
Ok here we go! She was a VERY brave girl. She sat so still and didn't shed a tear.
What a cutie girl! We got a little trim to help her hair grow and settle down a bit!
Getting her hair ready for the cut! She did so great and enjoyed herself...
Can't you tell?!? Hahaha. Such a classic Saffryn look!
Well that was the time our kids got their first haircuts! They look so grown up now! Dan and I were so proud of them!!!

Sugar AND Spice
Some of Saffryn's recent moments!
"I running fast a my can!!!!" - she hasn't figured out the usage of as, of, or for. Lol. It cracks me up
"Who got a me?" - meaning who got this for me...which I hear ALL the time!
"Mom, you're killing me" - in an exasperated tone
Me- "Saffryn will you close that door so Pierce wont go in there?"
S- "You don't boss people around. That's not how you talk to people. You say please.". - she may have heard that a few times recently because of her demanding attitude...LOL
While talking on her play phone
"teeya hoenee H -O -E -Y." once again she may have heard me say and spell my name only a thousand times while on the phone. Silly baby
While I am putting some cereal away Saffryn points to the Quaker oats guy and asks, "Mom, is this Elton John?"
Me-start laughing then finally say, "no!"
S-"Well it is a guy, right?!?!"-in an annoyed tone
Me-"Ya it's a guy, but it's not Elton John."
And the last one I can think of right now.
While playing with her animals she lifts her shirt up and proceeds to nurse it. She says,"I'm feeding it with my booby."
Me-"oh ya? What are you feeding it?"
S-"Oatmeal...and peas."
Me-trying not to laugh
S-takes animal off and hands it to me. "here momma you feed him now."
Me-trying to not look completely appalled while thinking there is NO WAY I am going to "nurse" this stuffed animal.
Me-"you know I am a really good burper. Maybe I could burp him for you?"
S-thinks for a minute then says, "ya ok."
PHEW!!!!! That was a really weird close one!
Here is a pic of Saffryn and her headband that she has started wearing. Pretty much the coolest thing ever!

Daniel Cullen?!?!
I have started investigating some unusual occurrences at our house. I will spell out the facts and see if we come to the same conclusion.
Fact 1. My husband keeps very strange hours. In fact he prefers the dark late night over the bright daylight.
Fact 2. He hates werewolves but loves zombies (maybe he can relate to their unquenchable need for human flesh/blood).
Fact 3. He loves to run and keep in shape...I think you know why that would be important.
I think Fact 4 is the most convincing of all. These are unedited pictures of my children at age 10 months. BOTH of my children. The first one is Saffryn the second picture is Pierce.
That's right people...my husband is a vampire and he has given me vampire children!!!!!
Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Today
A few things:
1). First and foremost my best friend Terri (www.austinandterri.blogspot.com) had their baby girl today!!!!! I have spent the morning praising God for her safe arrival! I so wish we lived in the same city so I could smother them all day! I cannot wait to meet her!
2). While at Walmart getting dog food for Crash (oh all right, I might have snuck a few bags of Easter candy in the cart) the cashier asks me how old Pierce is. I say 10 months. She says, "and it looks like you are expecting another one?!?!" Welp I guess I am officially showing now! Bring on baby 3!!!
3). After Walmart we went to the mall with my Mother-in-Law also known as Gigi to pick out Easter outfits for the kids! That along with the warm weather made it really feels like spring today! I LOVE spring time.
4). Pierce has had 4 teeth push through in the last week! That brings the grand total up to 5 teeth. What a big boy!!,
5). Toddlers can be such a difficult bunch. Recently when I have asked Saffryn to do something, like for example get in her carseat, she ignores or disobeys me. I give her a warning and say she can either do it herself or I will do it for her. She will then continue to ignore me so I follow through and put her in her carseat. Then she throws a HUGE tantrum and screams I wanna do it! Well then you should have done it! It is so hard following through and choosing my battles.
6). Although tantrums have been occurring Saffryn is so fun and smart. I have a post coming with all kinds of hilarious stories about her...you don't want to miss it!
7). I found the most awesome 5k race yesterday. I will wait to tell you more when we have officially signed up for it. It would be a few months after baby 3 comes and it is out of town so we are trying to figure out the logistics...but trust me when I say it is THE coolest thing! It makes me excited to get into shape after baby comes!
8). Tomorrow Dan and I have a date night planned! We are both looking forward to spending time with each other. I love that even after almost 5 years of marriage we are still crazy about each other. He is awesome!
What a good day!
I will leave you with the lyrics of Saffryn's favorite song: "This is the day, this is the day that The Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it!!!"
