It all started a few days ago with a slight cough from Max and Colt. No biggie. Kids get sick. Yesterday Colt had a fever along with his cough. I gave him some Tylenol and called it fine. Max was a little clingy so I figured he wasn't feeling well either but we had a good afternoon so I didn't think too much of it.
Then came bedtime. Max cried off and on for an hour after I put him to bed. When I went to go check on him he was curled up with his eyes closed just sobbing. It was so sad. So I knew he wasn't feeling well. I picked him up and knew he had a fever. I decided to go snuggle with him for a bit to see if that would help.
While I was snuggling him Pierce woke up screaming. That kid never wakes up at night so I knew something was up. He kept crying about his ear. We have him some Tylenol and put him back to bed. He had a hard time settling so I put Max back in bed and snuggled between the two helping them fall asleep. No sooner did I get them asleep when Colt started crying and saying, "slow down. Slow down. Please slow down." Nightmare. Poor baby. So I woke him up and comforted him. Got him back to sleep then Max woke up again. Continue this cycle all. Night. Long.
But truthfully it wasn't all bad. It was kind of sweet listening to them breathe and move around. I loved them reaching out for my hand and being comforted by my touch and voice. I had lots of time to pray for them and think about how much I love them and how unique and special they are!
I had to snap a few pictures because they were being so sweet. Besides getting to snuggle them and feel all lovey dovey about the boys I got a lot of reading done! I started one of my book club books and I am seriously loving it!!
Anyway after a night of being woke up every 30/40 minutes I knew we needed to go see the doctor this morning and see what was going on. Dan took the morning off to help me since all four kids didn't feel well! Thanks love!!! While at the office he took this picture:
It turns out that Pierce has a double ear infection. Poor kid. Now wonder he woke up screamig. Saffryn has a mild ear infection (she also woke up once last night complaining about her ear). Max has some viral cold thing (the doctor said he probably felt the worst because of his sore throat and drainage but his probably just needed to run its course.) and Colt has a respiratory problem. They gave us breathing treatments to help him because his O2 levels were around 93/94. We will have to do a recheck tomorrow to make sure breathing treatments help.
Whoa. That escalated quickly! So thankful for modern medicine! After we got some prescriptions filled and at a quick lunch I put on pbs so the kids could rest.
