Milestones

We have a few new milestones here:

Saffryn lost her top tooth! Now she is really looking like an elementary aged child! Sheesh!

Also,
Pierce learned to ride with no training wheels! So proud of this boy!

A Weekend of Moving

Several unexpected fixes and months later we finally sold our house in Texas! Which means...we finally got to move into our own house! My inlaws were so very gracious to let us stay with them. They were so patient and truly didn't sweat the small stuff.  A big huge thanks to them!

Last week was closing day for us! Dan took a few days off to help me with the movers and unpacking (thank you my love!!!). Here are some pics of the long weekend.

Max got really sick a few days before closing. That made packing and organizing a little trickier. So I had to make sure and take breaks to snuggle him
Right after closing! We are home!
We decided to do an emergency painting session for Saffryn. Her room was a very dark green. It made the room feel very small. Her bed is a loft bed so once that goes up it is ridiculous to try and move it. So we figured we better paint before the bed came!
She chose orchid lane. I love it. A very soft and soothing purple!
Picnic meals on the floor before furniture came!
It was moving day!!! It rained so hard the morning the truck was supposed to come. I was worried they wouldn't be able to work, but it eventually slowed down.
Baby wearing my sick and clingy boy while directing the movers.
The movers brought in a large floor piano. It was like xmas!!!
Boxes galore!
More boxes
Someone had reached their limit. Poor sick and overstimulated baby.
The deck was the first room to get done! We are super excited about this space!
The other side of the deck.
Starting to unpack. Overwhelming.
Living room mess.
Put up a picture collage in the master bedroom. I love it!
Kitchen is done!!!! Eventually we want to paint some things in here and do a few small projects. But for now it's great!
Had to take another snuggle break!

I can't forget to thank my many friends! They were all so eager to help me! Watching kids, bringing meals, bringing a few groceries, texts and calls, coffee. Thank you sweet friends. You guys are the best!

There is a little glimpse inside our weekend. Still have LOTS to do!

From Head to Toe

My dear wonderful Colt,

I love you from the top of your head that loves to wear all sorts of hats

Down to your thick, dark chocolate brown hair

I love you from your sparkley blue eyes that reveal your kind and gentle soul

Down to your cheeks that still have a slight bit of baby pudge left (that I secretly hope never goes away)

I love you from your sweet mouth that has a gentle smile on it while you play

Down to your very loud voice that absolutely loves to sing and make noise

I love you from your busy busy body that climbs so high, jumps so regularly, runs so fast and plays so hard

Down to your hands that are learning to do smaller tasks like draw and write

I love you from your tummy that seems to never have enough to eat

Down to your feet that have some new shoes you are so proud of. Shoes that you can now put on all by yourself

I love that you are deeply loyal. I love that you want to be a police officer and use your strong body to protect and help people. I love that you are a class clown and will do anything for a laugh. I love that you are a momma's boy through and through. I love that cars are your favorite thing. I love that you have never met a food you didn't like and enjoy cooking.

I really and truly love you from the top of your head down to your pinky toe! You are one of a kind!

Love,
Mom

From Head to Toe

My dear darling Pierce,

I love you from the top of your dirty blond hair that you love to style different ways to be expressive
Down to your thoughts and feelings that you reserve and keep secretly locked away until you are ready to share
I love you from your bright blue eyes
Down to your slightly upturned nose (you got from me) that is covered with freckles (from your dad)
I love you from your smile that lights up a room
Down to your heart so full of love and tenderness. You are always the first one Max looks for when away from mommy because he trusts you so much

I love you from your body that still longs to be close to your loveys and brings them everywhere

Down to your hands that create such profound and inspiring pieces of art

I love you from your skin that is so very sensitive and fair

Down to your feet. Feet that are growing bigger and bigger by the day and remind me that you will not always be this small, but someday you will be a big, tall grown up man!

I love how much you enjoy space. I love that you have a favorite planet. I love that you are so nurturing and enjoy babies of every kind of animal. I love how confident you are and how much you just own what you like. I love that I can still get you to take naps. I love that you are a deep thinker and feeler like your dad.

Son, you are truly something special.

Love,
Mom

From Head to Toe

My sweet, sweet Saffryn,

I love you from the top of your sun streaked hair
That has caused you so much grief but we are learning together how to tame it
Down to your thoughtful deep blue eyes that never seem to miss anything

I love you from your dainty nose down to your soft pink lips. You have such a lovely, feminine face

I love you from your teeth that have already had several trips to the dentist and orthodontist
Down to your skin that catches and holds summer sun
I love you from your heart that has so much compassion for animals and people
Down to your hands that still hold special bunny so tight
But recently made some new friends, too
I love you from your long athletic legs that help your run so fast
Down to your feet that help you jump so high and swim so well

I love that you are so eager to help me. I love that you hate being by yourself (a trait you inherited from me). I love that you are my only girl. I love that you are equal parts girly and tomboy. I love that you are a rule follower. I love that you like to be proper.

Your name means: a rare and precious spice. And truly that's what you are to us: rare and precious with just enough spice to keep things interesting.

You my dear are one of a kind!

Love,
Mom
