First Girls Trip

Last year I went on a weekend trip to visit my friends. It was supposed to be a trip to give me a break from kiddos but I had a nursing babe so I brought him along. Truly it was a wonderful weekend with my friends and it was so great to have some one on one time with Max because we never truly get that! Anyway, when I got back home Saffryn kept asking when SHE could take a trip with me. So Dan and I both decided that it was a great idea and just waited for the right time. Fast forward a year and Dan's sister and husband moved to L.A.  Sounds like a great place to visit and take a little lady along, right?!?!
At the airport. I got us both new books for the flight. I'm not sure what I was thinking buying one for me. I never had one spare second. Hahah. Constant questions and talking. Lots of talking. I mean LOTS of talking! We worked on a sticker book together for most of the flight.
The flight was super easy and we got picked up by Brian and Becca and went out to dinner!
We were so happy to see them! After a delish dinner we went back to their place and learned they had Aladdin! Saffryn was so excited as she had never seen it before! She begged to watch it and even though it was super late our time I gave in. She had been so patient the whole trip and dinner so I felt like she earned a late night. Plus it's vacation right?!?! So we enjoyed the movie then went to bed!

The next morning we went to this super cool restaurant. Like seriously, it was way too cool for me.
Yes I took a pic of the menu!! I mean flavored waters?!? I truly did not belong in this place. Haha. I decided to be adventurous and try a juice.
I gagged down as much as I could. It was awful! HAHAHAH. Told you I was not cool enough for this place.

After breakfast we went to the BEACH!!!!
Surfboard and all! I felt like a true Californian!

It was so beautiful!
The waves were huge!!!

Little lady tried to balance on the board in the very shallow part and realized very quickly that it was way to hard for her!
And guess what else...
I am going to be an AUNT!!! Baby T is due in April!!!! Is she not the cutest momma ever!!!

After the beach we got cleaned up and went to a fancy hotel for lunch. I was so hoping to spot a celebrity or two but no such luck. After lunch we had a break at the house because the little miss was starting to have melt downs. I was getting a little frustrated when I had to remind myself (with a little help from Becca. Thanks for that!!!) that she is 5 going on 15 not 15 going on 16. She is FIVE. Oh yea. She is still so little. And she had been such a patient girl and was two hours off her normal time frame! So we regrouped and refreshed and took bikes out around Santa Monica.
Uncle Brian did the hard work!

We rode our bikes to the pier and decided to ride some rides! This girl was in heaven! She loves riding rides and even tried some bigger ones. They ended up scaring her but she tried them!!!
We had a great time together. I was happy I didn't get sick. I am becoming wimpy in my old age. After riding for a while we biked back home and got take out.
This was seriously the BEST sushi I have ever had. Oh my word was it good. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Yummy!!!

The next day we went to the farmers market in Santa Monica!
We got fresh berries, homemade crepes and that purple drink is the most amazing smoothie I have ever had. Seriously. Oh it was good. The market was so big. Everyone was so friendly! I loved seeing all the fresh produce. I could get into this place...

Then we went back to the beach. Originally we had talked about walking up to the Hollywood sign but realized it would be a lot for the little miss. So we canned it and went back to the beach. It was a great choice.
I mean look at that. What's not to love? We had to leave shortly after that. Boo!

We had a great time! It was fun to build memories like this together. It was good to learn give and take with eachother. It wasn't exactly a trip where we did only kid things and it wasn't a trip where I did everything I wanted. It was a little of both! We both really really loved it out there. I don't think I could live there with all of the people. But the culture and scenery was really awesome. Saffryn told me she wants to go to UCLA. More specifically she wants to swim at UCLA! Better get to practicing girl!

Thanks Brian and Becca for hosting us! It was the perfect place for our first girls trip! Thanks for making it such a fun weekend for us!
