Poor Crash

It started several months ago when I noticed a bump on Crash's side. I thought it was a bug bite and forgot about it. A week or so later I realized it was still there. Hmm. Weird.

So I take him to the vet and they do a very basic biopsy and say, "Well it doesn't look how we would expect cancer to look, BUT it doesn't look how we would expect a fatty tumor to look either." Ummm okay? So what do we do? "Just keep an eye on it and if it starts to grow we will remove it and take it in for pathology."

So several months later Dan and I just dont like how this bump looks and we schedule an appt to get it removed. That was last Monday. He was a good sport and did well during surgery. He was sad when he got home but seemed to cheer pretty quickly.

As the week wore on I got pretty lax about him wearing his cone because he seemed to be doing so well with everything. So a couple of days ago Monday I catch him licking his wound and it just doesn't look right. I take him into the vet and it turns out he is having a reaction to the stitches. The dr wants to put him back under and take out all the stitches and give him new ones. The new ones would be stainless steel. The only downside to them is they are kind of pokey. Yea...I have little kids at home around Crash constantly, pokey is not going to work. They decided on staples instead.

He underwent surgery again and did fine. We found out the bump was in fact cancerous. They feel confident that they got all of the tumor out so we just now watch and see what happens. If any new bumps appear we take them out immediately.

When he gets home from the surgery he is really sad and anxious. He seems very unsettled and not like himself at all. I am trying to comfort him but nothing seems to help. Pierce randomly opens the door to the back deck and Crash rushes out and has a giant poop. Oops. Poor guy. What a good dog holding his potty.

I open the front door to get the hose out to wash out the remainder of the potty and he runs out the front door and has the longest pee ever. Oops again. Poor guy really had to go potty. After he was done he sniffed the yard for like 30 seconds then had diarreah for like 5 minutes. Ooohhh. Poor Crashy. His tummy was so upset from surgery. No wonder he seemed anxious his tummy was probably on fire. It was all he could do not to have an accident in the house. Wow. World's Best Dog! He was completely calm after that. Oops.

So now Thursday he is doing well. He has the cone on 24/7 until the staples are removed because as soon as I take it off he hides to go lick his wound. We ALL hate the silly cone. He continually knocks into us with it and it kind of hurts. Colt has now put his hands by his face when he sees Crash coming because he has gotten hit by him so many times. LOL. Poor little Colt.

Anyway...that is the saga of poor Crash. He is the best dog and we love him so much. The big kids have been so concerned about him and have drawn him pictures, petted him and prayed for him so much this last week.

Dont worry Crash has gotten lots of treats the last week to hopefully help make up for the cone biz.

Personality

I love that my kids each have their own personality! They are so unique. The fun thing is I can look back at my pregnancies and deliveries and see their unique personality shining through.

Saffryn:
Getting pregnant with her was very much planned and thought out. Her pregnancy was text book. I had slight morning sickness that passed after the first trimester, super easy second trimester and the usual complaints of the third trimester. Her delivery was also pretty text book. She was born "sunny side up". She was so aware and strong. I am convinced she came out that way because she didn't want to miss anything!

And that is my girl! She is by the book. She is my rule follower. She is thoughtful and plans everything out. She doesn't want to miss a thing. Ever. She is a perfectionist and strives for more! And she has been since before she was born!

Pierce:
Our attitude in getting pregnant with Pierce was, "lets see what happens". We were pretty laid back about it. My pregnancy with Pierce was very emotional and uncomfortable. I went into labor on my own with him and it was a long and slow labor. He came out wanting to be held and snuggled by his momma. He was our cuddle bug.

And that is SO Pierce! He is pretty laid back about some things but has strong emotions about others! He does things his way and on his own time. His long labor is a perfect example of just doing it in his own time. He is such a momma's boy even now. He loves to be held and cuddled and just loved.

Colt:
Colt's pregnancy was a big surprise to us! My pregnancy with him was by far the easiest and yet the most dramatic. I felt great the whole time! He was breech and somehow flipped without me knowing it! My delivery with him was VERY dramatic! He was such an easy, calm and happy newborn.

And that is my littlest boy! He is so easy, yet somehow the center of attention. He has a flare for the dramatic. He is so busy but so gentle and calm about it. He is a show stopper and always has been!

It is so fun for me to see who God has created my children to be from the beginning!

Bath Shenanigans

After Colt had a bath he escaped from me. He crawled as fast as he could to see what the "big" kids were doing. He was so proud of himself that I just had to get some pictures...

Oh little bubba bear. You are something else!

10 months

Colt's 10month photo shoot started off a bit rocky...

Don't you just loved the look on Crash's face.

Then, the big kids helped cheer him up!

Playing peek-a-boo!

And it worked!

Thanks guys!

Colt weighs 25 lbs and is in the 92% and is 71% in height. He wears size 5 diapers, size 4 shoe and 18 month to 2t clothes. He officially shares clothes with his older brother!

He is SO busy! He never wants to sit still which makes changing his diaper a nightmare! Seriously. He is so strong and spends the whole time trying to get away from you. It is only laughable when you are not in the middle of changing his diaper...

He loves to be outside. He loves to eat. He loves filling and dumping. He wants to do anything and everything his siblings are doing! He loves balls. He loves Crash's food and water.

He is still nursing 3 to 4 times a day. We both love it. I have nursed him the longest of any of my kids! Believe it or not I have been pregnant when my other two were this age. I am still trying to process through how I feel about not being pregnant now. But I am enjoying nursing him!!! (No we are not trying to get pregnant right now or anything. I am trying to process how I feel about just that!).

This big boy is WALKING!!!! He easily takes 3-4 steps without falling! I told you he was strong and busy!

He does this with his lip a lot. It is so cute. I love it!

He has 7 teeth! His hair is still light brown. Though I see some gold in it, so maybe he will go blonde after all? He has such bright blue eyes!

He is my show pony and LOVES being the center of attention. When all eyes are on him he puts on quite a show. He charms everyone he meets almost instantly! I love that about him!!!

He takes one long nap in the afternoon and ones to bed about 7pm and wakes up between 5:30/6. He now sleeps upstairs with Pierce and is doing great! I am o proud of those boys!

Oh how I love this little boy!!!
