I Forgot A Couple of Things

It is no secret that my first born has sleep issues. She has since...well birth. LOL. It isn't so much the sleeping, it is the falling asleep. She is a very heavy sleeper once she is asleep and sleeps through the night, she just fights going to sleep. I think she is afraid she is going to miss out on something.

Anyway, this has played out different ways in our house. Currently we are to the point where she KNOWS it is bedtime and she KNOWS she should be in bed while bunny clock is asleep. So she knows she will get in trouble if she just wanders out of her room or tries to play. She also knows screaming and crying get her nowhere fast, so she has tried a new tactic. Once our bedtime routine is over she goes to her bed then will rack her brain trying to think of something we forgot to do. It could be anything from what we talked about at breakfast to something that isn't quite right in her bedroom.

Some are legitimate: "I forgot....to feed the fish tonight."

Some are ridiculous: "I forgot...to tell you I like chocolate"

Some are sweet: "I forgot...to give you a hug and a kiss."

This both exasperates me and cracks me up.

Some nights I just really want her to climb into bed and go to sleep...THE FIRST TIME!!!! Ya know?!?!

But nights like tonight it cracks me up. You can literally see the wheels turning in her mind as she tries to think of something we forgot to do. ANYTHING to get out of going to bed. When she doesn't think of something right away...don't be fooled...she will come and find you and say, "We forgot a couple of things today."

Well Saffryn, you get an A for creativity and an A for effort!!!

Raspberry Mess

I had the brilliant idea of eating a snack outside...

Well it seemed like a good idea. Then Colt got involved..lol.

Let me show you.

He loved them.

He decided to crawl through them after dumping them out. Yes I was sitting right there he is just that fast and strong.

Like I said it seemed like a good idea. At least he liked them!

Easy Project

We made little bird feeders. It is so easy!

First: Find some pine cones. Great excuse to go on a walk:)

Second: Tie a string around the pine cone, leaving enough to tie it around a tree branch.

Third: Get out peanut butter and non-sharp knives and let the kids spread the peanut butter all over the pine cone.

Fourth: Roll the pine cone in some bird seed.

Lastly: Tie it to a tree and wait for birds to come and enjoy a tasty treat :)

Nine Months!

Can you believe he is 9 months old?!?!

I had the hardest time getting good pictures of him this month. He is just so busy and doesn't want to sit still!

He is a busy body and into everything. He is also very fast. NOT a good combo. At least not for momma...hehe! He wants to do everything his older siblings do. I bet that will motivate him to walk soon! As of now, he crawls super fast, can pull up on anything, stands for several seconds by himself and can slowly cruise on furniture. If we are holding his hands and trying to get him to walk he will take a few steps then get excited and start bouncing up and down. It is so funny. Cracks me up every time!

He has 4 teeth trying to come on the top and added another one on the bottom. He is eating almost everything we are now. He loves to eat!!! I am no longer dairy free and he is doing great with it! Although on a side note I am doing dairy light because too much dairy now hurts my tummy...oh the irony. But I don't even miss it that much and am willingly choosing non-dairy items. So much less fatty. Anyway moving on. He can drink out of a sippy and loves it!

He can say, dada and mama though I am not convinced he knows what he is saying. He shakes his head no. He can sign milk after I sign milk and knows where it comes from. He smiles so big when I ask him if he wants more food. He stops when I say no. He looks around right before he gets into something he knows he shouldn't...mostly Crash's food and water.

He loves to be outside and loves going on walks in the stroller. You will not hear even one sound of complaint while he is in his stroller. While outside he makes a beeline for the mulch and always tries to shove as much as possible in his mouth before I come get him. He loves splashing in the water table and gets soaking wet.

I get so many comments about how he is the happiest baby they have ever seen. It is true! He is SUCH a happy and smiley baby. He lights up a whole room!

He is sleeping much better though he still occasionally wakes and wants to nurse. He wants 2 naps a day and goes to bed about 7pm and on a good night sleeps until 6:30. On a "bad" night he will wake sometime between 11-3 and want to nurse then sleep until 6:30. Woo for that being his bad nights now!

We all love him so much! He has been the perfect addition to our family!

Slow Down

I brought out some spray bottles the other day and the kids loved it. It made me smile so much. They were spraying any and everything. Pierce especially loved spraying it into his mouth, which used to be my favorite thing to do, too! Here are a few pictures I got from my phone so not the best quality, but you can see why I love them!

Spraying each other...always fun!

I love these sweet and fun moments so much!
