Day 4

Woke up feeling very tired. Saffryn and Colt were both still sleeping...if only Pierce was too...
Point for kids

Today was our first scheduled outing. We had MOPS at 9 am. So while S and C slept I got a bowl of dry cereal and put Pierce on the bathroom floor so I could get a quick shower. He made a huge mess I will later have to clean. Sigh
Point for kids

Somehow managed to get all of us dressed, diapered/potty, feed and to the church at 9:05!!! I was only 5 min late.
Point for Mom!

Came home from a fun MOPS meeting and fed Colt. Then got lunch ready for the rest of us. Lunch and naps seems to be the hardest time of day for us. But we all ate and Colt was happy in the high chair! Tie, slightly leaning in my favor...

Got S and P down for naps and got a little snuggle time with Colt and got to read and pray for a few minutes. Point for mom!

Saffryn and Colt wake up and I then clean up lunch and the living room and bathroom...remember cereal incident... Point for kids

I do 3...that's right 3 loads of laundry! Yeah!!! Go me!
Point for Mom!

Had an iTunes gift card from my mom and down loaded a few new albums. Just the pick me up I needed! Thanks Mom!
Point for me (kind of a freebie but whatever...)

Realized I have been forgetting to take my prenatals and baby aspirin this week. How easy it is for things to fall through the cracks
Point for kids

Had a friend come over with her adorable baby girl. Pierce woke up and my 3 kids played quietly and let me have a conversation. This like NEVER happens!
Point for mom!

Said friends' husband brings over pizza for our dinner. We are so spoiled!!!
Point for friends!!! (Jessie you are seriously racking up points...lol!)

After dinner Dan took S and P to the store to get milk and juice. That left me with a quiet house! Until Colt woke up and wanted to eat. Lol. Thanks Dan!
Point for Dan and momma!

Dan put "big" kids to bed so I could get some rest. Big kids had trouble and I didn't get to rest.
Point for kids

Busy day! My new theme...BUSY!

So thankful for all of my friends who have been so helpful. THANK YOU. No doubt that has helped this week be a success for me!

Day Three-

Woke up...you know the drill
Point for kids

Got to eat breakfast with Saffryn and Pierce!
Point for Momma

While cleaning up breakfast got a call from a friend about coming over for a play date! Yay! Win for all. Tie

While trying to pump I get the kids to help feed Crash. Feeling pretty awesome and creative for delegating! Point for mom

Realized Pierce was putting the dog food in the water bowl making a mess and more work for me! One slice of humble pie here please! Lol! Point for kids...actually just Pierce

Said friend came over with her awesome kids and Starbucks! Point for mom! (Why? Because I make up the rules...lol!)

Saffryn had a really hard time during the play date. Lots of tantrums, unwilling to share and lots of tears. This would have been very overwhelming but my friend was super encouraging and just let it roll off her so I was able to! That's why moms need other mom friends!!! Tie

Friends left and it was time for lunch. Lunch is a serious juggling act for some reason. Point for kids

Although I let Saffryn help make her sandwich and I got a secret laugh from it! Point for momma!

Manage to get Saffryn and Pierce down for naps and decide to leave the mess and go lay down. Wrong. Colt has other ideas and wants some attention from his momma. Lol. Point for kids!

Colt finally fell asleep and I got to read through Psalm 20 for my bible study! Point for momma!

Saffryn wakes up and we clean up together! Point for momma!

Spend the afternoon and evening with some friends and have dinner taken care of for us! Amazing!!! Calling this one a point for me.

Finally get kids down and desperately want to sleep. However bills are due this week so Dan and I work on bills for a bit. Stupid bills. Point for...hmm...bills?

Finally get to sleep, well until feeding time :)

Ok now for the total

Momma 7
Kids 4

Yeah I win again! Lol! Let's be real...it does help that I make the rules and can give myself a few freebies. I can't believe the week is half over. Have I ever said how much I love being a mom?!?!

Day Two-tie

Second day of 3 under 3....

Woke up with Saffryn and Pierce after another newborn night. Don't think these mornings are going to get an easier. Lol. Point for kids

Got to eat breakfast with S and P while Colt slept! Yay!!! Point for Momma

Got breakfast cleaned up while Colt continued to sleep and Saffryn and Pierce played together in the living room! Point for Momma

Sat down at the table and wrote about yesterday while kids played/slept. Point for Mom

Colt wanted to be fed and Saffryn and Pierce wanted to go outside. Didn't manage to get us all dressed and ready until 10:30. Oops. Point for kids

Decided I wanted to go back to the lactation consultant because I am still hurting on one side. This put a kink in my day and made me feel a bit frazzled. Had to find child care and time Colt's feedings just right for the appt. I'm not sure if the point should go to the kids, but it definitely should not go to me.

While I got the "big" kids lunch Colt needed to be fed. This means no lunch for me. Point for kids

After lunch I had to change diapers and clothes and get S and P down for naps. The house is a mess and lunch hasn't been cleaned up. Point for kids

Clean up real quick and take C to the lactation consultant. Thanks so much for watching the kids Jessie!!! Point for Jess...lol! (if you are curious we decided to pump on the side that is damaged until it gets completely healed. His latch now looks great. We are close to having this down! However it is a serious pain to pump in the middle of the night. Props to the moms who have to do it this way!)

Came home and finally got to eat lunch. I was starving. Point for mom? I dunno maybe a tie since I didn't get to eat until then.

Went downstairs and got out art stuff for Saffryn and Pierce. They had a blast! Point for mom

Ate dinner while holding Colt who wanted to be fed. Tried to feed him and juggle feeding S and P. That was tough. Point for kids

Gave big kids a bath. Colt watched quietly in the bouncy chair. Point for Momma

Dan got home from work and helped me put the kids down! We got to sit down and have an uninterrupted conversation!!! Point for mom!

Phew!
Now the total

Momma: 6
Kids: 6

Oh and I managed to get a few more pics today...

Saffryn working on her art!

Pierce bringing a book for me to read!

He woke up from his nap with his hair in a faux hawk! No I'm not kidding I really had nothing to do with it! But it sure looks cute so maybe a repeat is in order!

I cannot get over this little face!

Welp time to feed Colt. Having 3 kids sure is busy! But they are worth it!

Day One-Win

Yesterday was my first full day with all three kids by myself!

After a normal newborn night of sleep it was time to get up with the "big" kids. That felt a little rough. Point for the kids.

Colt had just been fed and was asleep so I got to eat breakfast with Saffryn and Pierce! Yeah!!! Point for Momma

Got breakfast cleaned up while Colt continued to sleep and the other kids played. Point for Momma

Realized the kids had been playing (aka destroying..lol) in my room. Ahh. Little stinkers...hehe. Point for kids

Did two loads of the kid's laundry. Point for Momma

Managed to get us all dressed and outside for a bit of play. Point for Momma

Got to make and eat lunch with S and P. Colt was awake and happy. Point for Momma

Didn't get to clean up lunch until about 2 hours later. Point for the kids

Had to change two dirty diapers, feed Colt and put all 3 kids down for a nap. I did manage to do just that but it was a serious juggling act. Tie!

Spent sometime cleaning my room and lunch during nap time. Boo. Point for kids

All 3 kids actually fell asleep. Yes even Saffryn! I wasn't sure how long it was going to last so I decided to spend some time reading my bible and praying instead of trying to get a cat nap. It was so refreshing. Point for Momma!

Realized I only got one picture today. Darn. Point for the kids

Colt woke up first so i got to have some time with him! Then the other kids started waking up and I got Colt fed and ready for his Dr. Appt. Dan came home to a semi clean house with clothed children (and wife). what a very busy day!

Adding up the points for the day:

Momma: 6
Kids: 5

Momma is the winner! Let's see how the rest of the week stacks up!

Oh here is the picture I got for the day:

-playing with Colt during the kids' naps! Such a sweetie!!!

15/16 Months

I'm sure you think I have forgotten about my other children with all these posts about Colt. ;)
Well this post is overdue by a month but I just could not find the energy to write this while I was pregnant...plus my mind didn't work at all. It is only slightly better! Lol! But if I don't get this written it wont ever get done and I don't want to miss out on recording his life.
So all about Pierce. He is now 16 months old!

He weighs 25 lbs. He wears a size 4 diaper (though I did accidentally buy him size 5's and they were none too big). He wears a size 6 shoe and 18 month clothing, but does fit in some 2t things.

As you can see from these pictures this tag blanket is his "lovey". It goes everywhere with him. Usually not far behind is his pacifier which we call a binky and he calls "deedee". We will be tackling deedee in the very near future, but with a new big change (Colt arriving) we decided to let him keep it for comfort.

His language is really improving! He still mostly oohs and uhs when he his talking. Dan and I are sure he is part monkey! But he actually has started saying several words: please (pronounced pees), Pierce (pee), saffryn(rah rah), momma, daddy, papa, Gigi, Yaya, up, blueberries (boo boo), bird (boo), plane (boo...hahah) and pool (poo). He signs: all done, more, help, eat, water.

His favorite toys are books, balls, trucks/cars, his wagon and water. He loves, loves, loves to read! He is starting to sit through longer books now. At first he was only interested in board books with animals (he knows a ton of animal sounds), but now it is a variety of books. He loves water play and will play in water all day if I let him! He also loves just being outside! He is a busy boy!

The kid is such a great eater! His favorites are fruit, bread, guacamole, chicken nuggets and juice! He has realized he sometimes gets different foods than the rest of us (hard, crunchy foods I don't give him yet. Think raw carrots, chips, etc) and he hates it. He has also decided that he doesn't want to be in a high chair anymore and we have started letting him sit at the table in a booster with us!

He is also a great sleeper! He is usually asleep by 8 and wakes up around 7am. He takes a good 2/3 hour nap in the afternoon! We still rock him to sleep, but are transitioning into rocking him for 10 minutes then putting him down whether he is asleep or not. He is doing great with it. He is a snuggle boy and enjoys rocking!

He loves his sister. He looks up to her and wants to do everything she does. It is so sweet. Saffryn varies between thinking that is awesome and being annoyed by it. Hehe.

He is kind of a mischievous little boy. He loves to explore. He loves to be thrown around and rough house with Daddy. He loves to climb and run. He is all boy! He is loud and passionate. He loves to be loved. He is a blast! We sure love him!

Week 1

I can't believe Colt is already over a week old! Here is our first week in pictures:

Week one has been good! He is a sweet little fellow. He loves to be held and I am only too happy to hold him!!! We are still trying to figure out breast feeding...you would think by number 3 I would know what I am doing, but I guess not. Lol! He is slightly tongue tied (if you are counting that would be 3 for 3. So weird) and we are trying to figure out if that is causing the problems. Our "big" kids are doing well. They are starting to get interested in him. It is of course a challenge to make sure they all get the attention they need, but we are all figuring it out. Life is crazy...but it's oh so good!

Spoiled

Dan and I seriously have the BEST parents! They are so quick to help us in any way. Before, during and after I had Colt I had so much help. My in laws made us so many dinners, spent time with me and the kids the week before I went into labor and watched the kids while I was in labor...and so much more!!! Thank you!!!!!

My mom came out and spent 9 days with us. She was so much help! The kids loved spending time with her! I could go on and on...but instead how about some pictures!

Spending time with baby Colt!

She got Saffryn a new big girl bike!!!

Papa Steve came out for a few days, too!!!

Swinging!

Rough housing with Pierce...his favorite!

Those 9 days went so fast. We miss you Yaya!
