From Head to Toe

My dearest Max,

I love you from the top of your golden hair. It sometimes still has hints of red in it and can be so unruly
To your baby blue eyes
I love you from your tiny nose sprinkled with freckles
To your mouth that can be so sweet and charming
And yet throw some epic tantrums
I love you from your body that still loves to be held
To your tiny hands that are always busy building your favorite thing, "rocket boosters"
And has the most adorable little freckle

I love you from your tummy that now sports a faint scar. A scar that nearly broke my heart into a thousand pieces
Down to your tiny feet. Feet that are so eager to catch up to the big kids. Feet that never miss an opportunity to jump, run and climb
And yet still so tiny.

Max I love how you live up to your name. I love how much passion and fire you have. I love how you never settle. I love you from the top of your head down to your littlest toe!

You my dear are one of a kind.

Love,
Mom

Sibling love

I found this note by Pierce's toys today. A card to Pierce from Saffryn. I had no idea she had done this which makes it all the sweeter!

I will translate:
"I love you and I hope you have a good night. I hope we get to sit together on the school bus"

My heart is so full!!!

Story Time

Pierce had to draw a picture and make a story for one of our school days.
I love these days. Their stories always make me laugh so much! In case you can't read the words here is the story:

Pierce drove to the Grand Canyon. Then he stood on it. Then he got too close to the edge. And then he fell off the edge, but he grabbed ahold of some rock. Then a piece of his camera fell off in the river. There was a big explosion in the river. Then he climbed back up.

The end

Rock Wall

We were invited to an indoor wall climbing event today by some of our friends. We thought we would go ahead and give it a try. Why not?!?!

When we got there we realized you had to be 4 and up to climb using the ropes. Poor Colt. He is SO close to being able to do these things. Thankfully they had a small toddler wall that he could climb.
Which he did in about 5 seconds! Ha
They also had a free form Boulder wall that the kids could try and climb. It's shorter and no use of ropes.
We will need to come back when he is 4! He was SO eager to climb the big wall. He did so great and was so patient as the other kids got to climb the big wall!
Saffryn and Pierce in their gear!
Seriously adorable!!!!
They didn't know what to think at first but very quickly they got the hang of it and went higher and higher!
Look at her go! She was a little more hesitant than Pierce was. He was so determined and wanted to push himself to keep going higher!

That was the highest he made it! Wow!!!

Max was in the baby carrier most of the time ;)

Dan and I kept thinking that we need to get a sitter and try it ourselves. It looked so fun! The kids did so well! They ALL loved it! When Colt turns 4 we are coming back for him to get a turn!

We decided to reward Colt and Max for being so patient while the big kids got to climb. So we all went out for icecream afterward!
Hahah! Such a mess.

What an adventurous day!

Pictures Again

Another picture dump blog post.

Sorry!

Saffryn got to pet a penguin during our fairy tea party outing. She loved it!
Rascal!
Saffryn got to go on a special date with her papa! So sweet and special!
Still loves being worn! Hahah!
Saffryn and one of her best friends wearing colorful tutus (that were made by me and her mother!) for a cancer walk fundraiser.
My friend Erin and I at the walk! So proud of her strength and perseverance!
Colt fell asleep while watching a movie one night. So cute!
This wild man finally got a haircut!
Pool weather.
She looked so grown up to me this day and I had to snap a picture.
Saffryn and I changed headbands. I got this one for one of my plain black ones. I totally got the better deal. And I am loving the fact that we are starting to share clothes! That's what having a daughter is all about. Though I am not sure what that says about my style if I like my 6 year olds things. ;)
Colt's love language: wrestling. Ha!
Enjoying the zoo with some out of town friends!
Pool day!
So much fun!
This little boy is obsessed with rockets. He wants me to draw and talk about rockets all the time. Right now he is content with my terrible drawings. Some day he will look back on this and laugh at my attempt. But just remember once you were super impressed with my rocket drawing abilites.
This little boy keeps wearing himself out!

That all we have been up to! We are already greatly enjoying our summer!

Fairy Tea Party

This spring Saffryn and I got to join our friends on a Fairy Tea Party! We had so much fun!!! It was at our local botanical gardens.
We got all dressed up and met each other there. Then we got to walk the gardens for a bit and watch a mini ballet performance!
Waiting for the ballet to start.
Getting to go interact with the ballerinas after the show!

After the ballet we went inside for lunch! They had some finger foods, dessert and strawberry lemonade. They had these really fancy tea cups and saucers for the lemonade. Here is the catch: it was only for the kids! Saffryn was so excited about it. What a great idea! That act alone made the girls feel so special and thought of! Saffryn kept saying, "usually kids get the plastic and moms get something fancy, but today the kids do!"
Every girl also got these fairy wings to take home! So fun!!!

After lunch we made fairy crafts. These included a wand, a flower headpiece and a flower pot!
Fairies walked around and talked with the little girls as we are and did our crafts!

We had such a fun time. Saffryn cannot wait to go back. So thankful our friends thought of this idea and invited us along! Thanks girls!!!!
