Changes....so many!

This "episode" or blog post will be all about the changes going on:


Change 1: Saffryn is crawling!!! She is still a little jerky and wobbly but she gets where she wants to go. What fun!!! See video below :)

Change 2: I need to change my habits because of change #1. For example, this morning I left my open water bottle on the living room floor several feet away from Saffryn. I left the room to put some clothes away and came back less than a minute later to the bottle tipped over and Saffryn playing in the water that was everywhere!!!! OOPS :)

Change 3: Because of Change #1 and her overall coordination we had to lower her crib setting!

Change 4: We also had to put a baby gate up on the stairs because of Change #1...see a theme :)

Change 5: Saffryn is babbling using consonant sounds! She sounds like a completely new baby...so grown up!!!!

On the move...backwards!!!

So yesterday Dan and I celebrated 3 years of marraige! The time really goes fast. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful husband who takes care of all of us. He is such a loving and gentle man and I know Saffryn is going to grow up knowing what a man should look like and how he should treat her! I am so thankful that God has put us together!!!! We got to experience a baby free night (thanks to Papa, Gigi and Aunt Abbie) and go out on the town! We had a great time eating and talking. Happy 3 year Anniversary!!!!

Ok so moving on to what I am sure you want to read about...Saffryn (and who could blame you she is awfully cute...LOL)!!! She has officially started crawling...backwards! She sees a toy she wants to play with and she goes for it only ends up away from it...LOL! It is kind of funny and sad too. She is really trying hard and could not literally be any closer to crawling! She is also able to sit up by herself. I thought I was going crazy the other morning when I put her on her tummy and came back from the kitchen to her sitting up! But alas...I am not crazy I have seen her do it several times! I love the new independence her body is giving her! Soon she will be able to go where she wants and explore what she wants...yes I know I may not like where she goes...hah. But still I love to see what interests her!

We have experienced a new thing this week...bubbles! I have no idea if she liked them or not. She was completely stoned faced the whole time!!! She reached out for them and watched them but did not crack a smile or laugh one time!!! She is so funny! What a serious and thoughtful personality she has!! One small inch for baby one big smile for momma

Saffryn could not be any closer to crawling...in fact she made her first tiny...I mean tiny inch forward today! I know I should not be so excited...once she learns to move she wont stop...but it is so much fun! I recorded her today in 3 parts...why you might ask. Well really because uploading video takes forever and I am convinced the smaller the video the shorter time it takes to upload. So the 3 videos are taken all right after the other. I know I am weird..LOL. Crash of course makes an appeareance...heaven forbid he might miss something :) I hope you enjoy the video as much as I do! ps Saffryn is almost 27 weeks old.

Saffryn at 6 months

Hello again! I know it has been awhile and I apologize...I just didn't know really what to write about. But I will try to be better about updating this more frequently again. Well today is May 12, 2010, six months after little miss Saffryn Mary was born. The time has gone by quickly, but I do feel like I have had her for so long. What was life like before her??? We had a doctor's apt today and she weighs 15lbs 10 oz. This now puts her in the 44%. She is 25 1/4 inches long. The 3oth some %. We had our usuall monthly photo shoot :) ENJOY!

She sits up so well now, she hardly ever tips over!

She still loves Crash so much! I think it is still pretty one sided. She LOVES him and he tolerates her...thats okay one day she will seem like more fun to him!!!!

Getting stronger and stronger everyday!!!!

Dan and I were talking and feel like her development just skyrocketed the last few weeks. She laughs and smiles all the time now! She loves silly faces and funny noises. She sits up so well, she reaches for toys around her while sitting and doesn't tip over. She is so close to crawling. She is interested in EVERYTHING!!! She notices things around her now and has started to try to make her way towards them...whether they are shoes, cords, dog toys, Crash...LOL! I think we need to start baby proofing the house within the next few weeks because very soon she will be on the move!!! Happy 6 months sweet pea!!!

Happy 25th Birthday to me...and Happy 5 months to my little girl

I had a GREAT birthday weekend. My girlfriend Kendra came to town to visit. We spent a lot of the weekend together. What a fun treat! On Saturday Dan surprised me with a babyless date night!!! It was so fun :) He first took me to a wine bar where I had my first alcholic beverage in over a year. I chose a martini...it was called sassy pants...I have no clue what was in it. We had a little snack and just relaxed and talked. After that he took me to my favorite restaurant...Sumo. We had sushi. YUMMY!!! It was such a fun night. What a wonderful and thoughtful husband I have. Thanks Papa and Gigi for watching the sweet little girl so we could go out!!!!!!

Moving on to Saffryn at 5 months. She is such a delight and is growin up so much! I think it is safe to say she is sleeping through the night!!! Last night she fell asleep at 8:15ish and slept until 6:30!!! YAY. I feel like a new woman with all this sleep. She is even putting herself to sleep in the crib. What a good little girl! She is also very interested in cups and food. I think we will give her cereal very soon. She watches us eat and tries to take it from us. We have let her grab our cups and she puts them right to her mouth to drink. It is so funny! I can't believe another month as flown by. I wish I could freeze time, but I know our job as parents is to prepare her for life on her own...but I just want her to stay with us forever. I know it is ridiculous to think this... she is only 5 months, but I am realizing how fast this is going and before I know it she will be leaving for college. Easter Weekend

CAUTION: This may be a long blog...

So April first rolls around and guess what Saffryn decides to do...SIT UP!!! She sat by herself for several seconds. No it really wasn't an April fools joke. What a great way to start the weekend. Needless to say Dan and I were so proud of our big girl.

This wasn't the actual pictures of her first time sitting up b/c my camera wasn't ready. I was totally caught off guard...but here are some of her doing her new trick :)
She is still really wobbly. If she reaches to the side or lifts her head up she falls over!!

Ok....now on with the weekend. Friday we flew to Denver to spend the weekend with my family. My sister and her fiance picked us up from the airport and drove us down to Colorado Springs. We got to see Grandma Malie, Grandpapa Steve, Oma, Opa and of course Aunt Erydin and Uncle Steve. We got to spend the weekend just watching good movies, playing games and just enjoying each other. We had so much fun!!! My camera pooped out so I only got a few pictures...enjoy!

Anyway the weekend of course had to come to an end. We drove back to the airport with Erydin and Steve and flew home. Saffryn did great on both flights and at the airport!!! Phew so glad. I am so thankful for such a fun and wonderful weekend!!!

Saffryn at 20 weeks

20 weeks seems so old to me!!! WOW. Well here are a few videos of her at 20 weeks.

She was in such a playful mood and laughing a lot, so I thought I would try and get some video of it. Of course as soon as she saw the camera she just started sucking on her hand and staring at the camera...haha!! Oh well, at least you get a glimpse of her sweet giggles.

She is almost constantly on her tummy now. As soon as I lie her down on her back she rolls to her tummy. She is working on getting coordination and strength so she can crawl! What a big girl :)
